Review of 1st Forum LABO LYON 2016 edition
With an attendance of 2,200 visitors over 2 days, the Forum LABO LYON - an event of CIFL* - that was held in Lyon on March 30th and 31st demonstrated its ability to mobilise the key players from the Auvergne/Rhône-Alpes and PACA regions of France and ensured the success of this first edition of the event.
Success in many respects thanks to a format over 2 days favourable to exchanges, constructive business meetings with 317 planned meetings, a rich offering combining scientific conferences and technical training sessions greatly appreciated by 823 delegates, and Innovation Showcase with 146 new products. Forum LABO LYON asserts its position as the leading event for the Laboratory market!
MANY VISITORS FROM BEYOND THE AUVERGNE/RHONE-ALPES AND PACA REGIONS
This 1st edition also attested to the dynamism of the Laboratory market in the Auvergne/Rhône-Alpes and PACA regions that represent approximately 20 % of the national market with more than 400 million euros.
Auvergne/Rhône-Alpes and PACA were naturally well represented, as 68% of the 2,200 visitors who attended the event came from those regions, but it is noteworthy that 32 % of visitors came from other regions of France (essentially Ile de France, Languedoc-Roussillon, Bourgogne and Pays de la Loire) and also from Switzerland.
The popularity of the exhibition is the result of a large and varied product offering dedicated to research, analysis and control, presented by 171 exhibitors (Consumables 33%, Products/Reagents 29%, Equipment 50%, Instruments 49%, Services 47%).
A POSITIVE BUSINESS ATMOSPHERE DRIVEN BY THE LAB’MEETINGS
The event’s platform for business meetings generated a total of 317 targeted and qualified meetings between exhibitors and visitors. This enabled visitors who registered to the Lab’Meetings to optimize their time at the venue and make profitable contacts. Many participants were engaged in short-term projects and 75% of them played an active role in purchasing decision-making.
POPULAR SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCES AND TRAINING SESSIONS
The programme of scientific conferences and training sessions was on par with visitors’ expectations and provided an answer to their growing need for expertise. 823 visitors attended these events.
