A New Dynamic: A Gamble That Paid Off…

From Tuesday 3 June to Friday 6 June at the Paris Expo Exhibition Center in Porte de Versailles, Forum LABO & BIOTECH - the biennial gathering of professionals from public and private sector research, monitoring and analysis laboratories - delivered a dynamic event with a new location, new dates and a program of events in line with today’s trends.
During these four days the 282 exhibitors at Forum LABO & BIOTECH 2008 welcomed 9,100 visitors, nearly 10% of them international visitors. This result, up 9% on 2006, demonstrates that the laboratory market is truly dynamic and in search of the latest innovations.
Quality contacts

After the show, exhibitors reported high levels of satisfaction with the event’s results, for they experienced substantial visitor numbers. They saw a marked increase in contacts and identified many investment projects. Exhibitors and visitors all noted the high quality of contacts, the conviviality of the new venue and the relevance of the new dates. 97 percent of visitors believe that they have met their visit objectives and expressed their satisfaction with the representation of exhibitors and the diversity of the offerings.

Tuesday 3 June to Friday 6 June
Exhibitor Workshops:
Nearly 100 Workshops allowed exhibitors to present their latest technical innovations and dedicated applications.
Expert Forums:
Safety in the Laboratory on mornings and The Impact of REACH on the Chemical Sector on afternoons: this was the program of these Expert Forums, which brought together more than 800 visitors who came to stay informed and exchange ideas on these topical themes.
Employment Forum:
During the exhibition, 73 job offers were put online by providers and viewed by 237 job applicants who have taken the opportunity to have their video resume produced for free on the spot.
1st Scientific Bloggers Forum
French Canadian Pascal Lapointe, Chief Editor at the Agence Science Presse, led this first-ever Scientific Bloggers Forum on Tuesday 3 June.
This 1st forum brought together the main French bloggers and many scientific journalists. Lapointe’s contribution was followed by intense exchanges between scientists and experienced or budding bloggers.
